Trend Report: Winter Haircuts 2015

The bitter cold of winter is the perfect time to heat things up with a new haircut. From super short to mid-length, the season’s hottest haircuts are all about texture. Celebrity hair stylist Richard Collins rounded up his top haircuts of the moment, to give you all the inspiration you need for your next salon appointment.

One cut Richard says will never go out of style is The Bob. This timely cut stays relevant because it is reinvented season after season. Richard says this winter’s version of the bob is messy and blunt, and all about defined face framing waves. It’s characterized by cool messy strands and layers at the sides and back for additional volume and texture. And it’s all about texture this season. Richard suggests maintaining your style by blow drying your hair in an outward direction, using your fingers instead of a brush. Once it’s completely dry, use Schwarzkopf Crystal Shine and Hold Transparent Polishing Cream to define and separate each tendril. Finish your look with Schwarzkopf Crystal Shine and Hold Laminating Shine Hair Spray.

Another haircut Richard loves this season is a fresh take on a 70’s classic. He calls this cut the Modern Charlie’s Angel. The shoulder-length feathery layers work with or without bangs and complement all face shapes. Maintain the integrity of this haircut by spraying Schwarzkopf Biotin Volume and Vitality Root Lift Spray to the roots of your wet hair, then blow-dry forward with your fingers until it is completely dry. Using a round brush, smooth your hair in multiple directions, then finish with Schwarzkopf Biotin Volume and Texture H20 Free Hair Spray.

No matter the cut, Midi Hair is in this season. Richard says adding shorter, more graduated layers that fall just below the collar bone to an already chic midi cut, make it even chicer. Use a cocktail of Schwarzkopf Biotin Volume and Texture Superb Volume Mousse and Schwarzkopf Elastin Curls and Moisture Curl Defining Cream all over your wet hair and twist it into a diffuser until it is dry. Use your fingers to frame tendrils around your face. Finish by spritzing with Diamond Color and Radiance Shine Boost Tonic.

The Punk Pixie cut is one that Richard says is both rebellious and feminine at the same time. It is ultra modern and really accentuates the sexiness of your cheekbones, neck, and jawline. Keep the cut looking fresh by applying Schwarzkopf Biotin Volume and Texture Superb Volume Mousse on your damp hair and then blow drying it in multiple directions using your fingers. Finish by working Schwartzkopf Satin Frizz Control and Protect Wax Powder throughout your hair and parting it on one side, then flipping it over in the opposite direction.

Don’t let the cold weather give you the winter blues this season. Get inspired and take a trip to see your stylist. You can’t go wrong with any of Richard’s hottest picks this winter. Get your cut, then stock up on your favorite Schwartzkopf products and you’ll be feeling hot in no time!
